At Newsday, Melanie covers many stories in the greater-New York City area. She writes and edits articles including lifestyle, entertainment, arts, real estate, business and feature stories. She currently writes and edits for Newsday's digital and social media campaign, Faces of Long Island. She interviews local community members and shares their unique stories. She has written about a college student's coming out story, a young woman's blood clot battle, a rock climber's close calls and so many more. Melanie's feature story on Long Island's butterfly gardens was on the front page of Explore LI, Newsday's feature section.

Melanie has written nearly 100 articles for her University's student-run newspaper, Pipe Dream. She has written for the News section, as well as the Arts and Culture section for the entirety of her college career. Many of her stories served as front page pieces. She was also copy editor for the multicultural section, PRISM. Her stories range from covering sexual assault initiatives to student protests Binghamton's growing deer population to frontline workers combatting COVID-19. Melanie was an On-Air Reporter, Multimedia Journalist and News Intern for WBNG 12 News in Binghamton, New York. She investigated a missing person case, interviewed the Jersey Boys, covered a Narcan training course to combat opioid overdoses and spoke to local community members about their travels, new programs, university initiatives and so much more.
At CBS, Melanie worked in the Entertainment department as a Media Relations Publicity Intern and wrote storylines, internal newsletters and press material.

One of the internal newsletters she wrote highlighted filmmaker Guillermo del Toro's exclusive look at his latest creation, the Jangly Man, for CBS Films thriller Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
At Dawning Digital, Melanie handled AriZona Beverage's social media accounts, including their Instagram with 300k followers. She provided community management, influencer marketing, content creation and copywriting. She wrote marketing blogs, including one on everything you need to know to get started on TikTok.
At Long Island Pulse Magazine, Melanie wrote and edited stories for the Arts and Culture, Leisure and Dining sections. She used her own photographs for her story on Best Summer Fishing Spots on Long Island, as she enjoys both photography and fishing.
